Statistics Canada reported that in the fourth quarter of 2025 Alberta had the fastest growth rate of any province or territory, and it was the top destination for interprovincial migrants for the fourteenth consecutive quarter. In 2023-24 Alberta recorded the highest annual growth rate of any province at about 4.3 percent. Growth has slowed across the country since then, but Alberta has continued to lead, driven mainly by people moving from other provinces and by international migration.
